1. Setting up the product page

1.1 Enabling the theme app extension

To begin, navigate to your preferred theme in Shopify and activate our gift card theme extension. This essential component enables customer interaction with gift card products from our app.

1.2 Creating the gift card product

Configure your gift card product by selecting:

• Product image for your store
• Product title
• Gift card amount options

After configuration, click "Create" in the top right corner to generate the product and preview it.

1.3 Editing the product styles

Customize the product appearance to match your store's branding with:

• Color schemes
• Border radius adjustments
• Font size controls
• CSS customization (for advanced users)

The gift card product automatically inherits your store's typography by default (this will not be visible in preview mode).

2. Gift card data

2.1 Reports

Our reporting dashboard provides key metrics visualization for any selected time period, including:

• Total gift cards sold
• Total revenue generated
• Current unused balance

Filter report results using these search parameters:

• Last characters: Last 4 digits of gift card codes
• Min balance: Minimum balance threshold
• Max balance: Maximum balance threshold
• Status: Enabled, disabled, or expired
• Balance status: Full, partial, or empty

2.2 Edit gift card

Access comprehensive gift card management options when viewing an issued card:

• Balance adjustments
• Expiration date configuration
• Customer assignment
• Transaction history
• Balance tracking (initial vs current)
• Customer message viewing
• Card deactivation

3. Gift card designs

3.1 AI Credits

For plans including AI credits, utilize them through these methods:

1. Admin-created designs (store owner)

Go to Settings -> Gift card designs

Generate designs using DALL-E 3 directly from your admin panel:

1. Enter your design prompt
2. Click "Create design"
3. Review and enable/disable results

2. Customer-created designs (store visitors)

Customers can:

• Generate custom AI images by entering prompts

• Enhance gift card messages using AI

3.2 Gift card designs

Manage the gift card designs displayed on your product page with:

• Curated design collections (Standard, Animated, Coloring)
• Individual design activation/deactivation
• Custom design uploads for brand consistency

Disabling all designs in a category removes that category from display.

4. Automated gift card management

You can find these in Settings -> Automated gift card management

4.1 Fulfill gift cards

Enable complete automation of your gift card fulfillment process:

• Automatic detection of gift card purchases
• Instant gift card creation and delivery
• Selective fulfillment (only processes gift card items)

4.2 Disable refunded gift cards

Prevent refunded gift cards from remaining active with this safety feature:

• Automatic deactivation upon refund
• Protection against gift card fraud
• Seamless integration with Shopify's refund system

4.3 Expiration date

Configure automatic expiration for gift cards to:

• Set standard expiration timelines
• Maintain compliance with local regulations
• Improve financial forecasting

5.1 Promotion banner

Add this customizable section to any Online Store 2.0 theme page to:

• Promote gift card offerings
• Showcase available gift card types
• Direct customers to gift card products

Customization options include:

5.2 Balance checker

Implement this versatile widget to allow customers to:

• Check gift card balances
• View expiration dates
• Access from any store page

Extensive customization available through theme editor.

6. Email notifications

6.1 Confirmation

Mandatory email sent upon gift card purchase containing:

• Code: Redemption code (required)
• Message: Customer's personal message
• Design: Selected gift card design
• Amount: Gift card value
• Expiration: Valid through date

Customization options:

• Brand logo integration
• HTML/CSS editing
• Template variables

6.2 Expiration reminder

Configure up to two reminder emails with:

• Custom timing before expiration
• Minimum balance thresholds

6.3 Balance reminder
